Point 3DS

Top  Previous  Next

Imports a 3DS model file and places it at the position of this symbol. It can include an offset, which is relative to the OCAD orientation of the symbol. Or it can be placed randomly within a radius of the symbol point.

It can also be used to place multiple 3DS models near a point.

A model is selected randomly from the list based on the weights given.

Here is an example on how to use Point 3DS.

OPTIONS

Offset

X: How much the 3DS should be offset (in meters) in west-east direction.

Z: How much the 3DS should be offset (in meters) in north-south direction.

Place in rand radius

The radius of the circle where the 3DS models will be randomly placed.

Count

How many 3DS items that will be added to the terrain. If min and max have different values, the number of inserted 3DS files will be a random value within that range.

Yaw Range

How many degrees the point object should randomly be rotated (around its own axis). 180 means full 360 degrees random rotation. 15 would mean +/- 15 degrees random rotation. 0 would turn the random rotation off and the object will get orientated in the point's direction.

This option is only available in version 1.309 and higher.

FileName (local option for each 3DS file)

List of file names for the 3DS files that can be used for this object. Each 3DS model that is added to the terrain is chosen randomly from this list.

UpAlign (local option for each 3DS file)

Any value between 0 and 1. Specifies the % that the model aligns with the terrain vs the vertical. Generally speaking, most man-made objects (houses, flagpoles, statues, stone wells, etc) should be orientated vertically (UpAlign = 1), while most objects in nature (boulders, tre logs, etc) follows the terrain (UpAlign = 0).

0: follows the terrain

1: always stay vertical

Frequency (local option for each 3DS file)

The relative weight this 3DS file should have in the random selection process (compared to the other 3DS files in the list). Higher number = selected more often.

Ground Snap Threshold (local option for each 3DS file)

The threshold value (in meters) for when the object should completely snap to the ground. The threshold value is half the height. For very low objects, set to 0.

This option is only available in version 1.312 and higher.

Running Speed (local option for each 3DS file)

The running speed of the 3DS object (0-15). It's only of importance for 3DS objects where the runner can actually run on top of them, such as for staircases.

This option is only available in version 1.313 and higher.
