Here are some common questions and problems listed:

Q: Sometimes my knolls doesn't show in the terrain.

A: If you have a map with lots of curve detail, the Ground Height Randomness might cause the knolls to not show up. You can fix this by lowering the GHR setting for the forest, or to set a higher minimum height for the knolls (such as minimum 1.5 meter knolls for a GHR of 1 meter).

Q: Why aren't gardens/settlements uncrossable by default?

A: According to the map norm, garden areas (527.0) are indeed forbidden and should be uncrossable in Catching Features. However, the map norm also says that it's allowed to run on all roads that are on the map, even when they are inside a garden area (forbidden roads in garden areas should not be on the map at all). So it's often easier to add the uncrossable regions for gardens manually in the CF Map Editor (as 2D Barriers) than to let the converter add it.

Q: Why do some of the symbols and/or vegetation not convert correctly, even though I know the converter supports them?

A: The most likely reason is that the OCAD map uses wrong symbol numbers, that doesn't match the IOF standard map norm numbers (for example 112.1 is used for elongated knolls instead of the standard 113.0). The easiest way is to correct these numbers directly in OCAD.

Q: The 2D map that the converter creates is unclear and of bad quality.

A: The OCAD is probably using a map scale other than 1:10000. One solution is to change the map scale in OCAD (shrink/stretch the map symbols) to 1:10000. Another solution is to export a map image file directly from OCAD and use that in the converter.
